Family Science Night | October 2

Come out and get your hands in motion with the Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester's "Family Science Night." Wednesday,October 2, 5:30-7:30 pm, at the Col. Daniel Marr Clubhouse, location on 35 Deer Street Dorchester MA.  Engage yourself with hands-on science activities, games and more. Dinner will be provided and there will be prizes for the whole family to enjoy. You can also earn FCCT points!!!

Percival Beer Company Tasting | September 28

18 Annual Melville Park Community Yard Sale | September 21

Find great bargains while strolling one of Boston's prettiest neighborhoods! Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain date Sep. 22). Lots of participating households and so many great deals to be found! Stop by our multi-family location first,10 Paisley Park, then pick up a map to find all the other treasure troves. 
The location will feature tons of kitchen, household, crafty, and Christmas stuff, some antique decor pieces, a bit of electronics, plus kid stuff for those with little ones 5 and under. Whatever treasure you are looking for can surely be found somewhere in the neighborhood. 

Birthday Bash for Beau the giraffe! | September 22

Franklin Park Zoo will be celebrating Beau The giraffe's  15 birthday on September 22 between 11am - 3pm. Guest can sign his birthday card, while enjoying his birthday cake (provided by Konditor Meister). This a great opportunity to learn more and ask questions about the Giraffe Savannah exhibit.

Zoo Howl | October 26 & 27

Saturday October 26 & Sunday October 27 at 11am, Families are invited to go trick-or-treating in Frankling Park Zoo. Events will include a haunted maze, costume contest, hay rides, and CANDY. Magic 106.7 will be in attendance with music, games, and prizes. The Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts will be engaged with fun arts & craft and other activities as well. JFK Library Forum: The Legacy of Joe Moakley | September 24

Tuesday, September 24 at 6pm, John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies at UMass Boston, in partnership with the Kennedy Library will present a discussion of Joe Moakley Journey: From South Boston to El Salvatore. This event is free to the public, although reservations are HIGHLY recommended. Seats are a first come first serve basis. Entry will open to the public one hour before the forum begins.

Mayoral Finalist Debate | September 25

Wednesday September 25 at 7pm, the debate of the two mayoral finalist will take place at First Parish Church on 10 Parish Street in Dorchester, MA.

Chris Lovett from Boston Neighborhood News will be the Moderator of the event. This debate will focus on the questions that the committee and attendees bring forth. The topics will be geared towards the neighborhood of Dorchester ( and the city as a whole).

Come out and voice your concerns and questions with the neighbors and local business owners of our community.

Run Wild 5K at Franklin Park Zoo | September 22

Have fun and run through Franklin Park Zoo.  The patch with be paved with music, games and prizes. The run starts at 8:30am on ,Sunday September 22. 

Afterwards there will be a zoo party (for 21+) featuring MAGIC 106.7 and various brewing companies. All the proceeds will support the operation of Zoo New England
