Rose Kennedy's Family Album | December 16

On Monday December 16 between, 6- 7 p.m. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and Thomas Fitzgerald share stories of Rose and Joe Kennedy (Townsend's grandparents and Fitzgerald's aunt and uncle) to launch the new book, Rose Kennedy's Family Album, featuring the Kennedy matriarch's personal photos spanning more than 60 years, from 1878 to 1946. Pulitzer Prize-winning former Boston Globe columnist Eileen McNamara moderates.

Free Flu Clinic | December 10

December 8-14 is National Influenza Vaccination Week, Carney Hospital along with Boston Public Health Commission are encouraging Bostonians to get vaccinated. They will be offering free flu vaccinations to the community, December, 10 between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. The free flu clinic will be located in the Family Medicine Department of the Carney Hospital ( 2100 Dorchester Ave.)

 

No appointment is required and you do not need to be a patient.

Wednesday December 4 from 5:30 til 7:30, the Salvation Army Kroc Center (located at 650 Dudley St.) will host their 3rd Annual Tree Lighting event.

 

There will be:

                              Carol Singing with a Brass band

                              A short devotional 

                              Light refreshments

                              Ringing of the "official First Bell"

Use Your Voice: Learning about Our Vietnamese American Identity | December 7

Saturday, December 7th, 12:30-4pm at the Vietnamese American Community Center/Viet-AID, 42 Charles Street, Fields Corner
 
Use Your Voice will include lunch, a movie screening, and community action. We will provide lunch, watch a movie about a Vietnamese American community finding its voice, discuss Vietnamese American identity, learn about the Bilingual Ballots campaign, and take action through door knocking. We hope to see you there for any/all parts of the event! Lunch will be served from 12:30-1, the movie will be shown from 1-2, the discussion from 2-2:30, and the community action from 2:30-4.
