ROC Block Party | Sept. 12

Redefining Our Community (ROC) is having a super fun block party this September ! Enjoy food vendors, live entertainment as well as dancing, poetry, etc. All ages are welcome to join the fun and games starting at 1:00 PM and those who are interested in displaying information directed towards community  education, health and wellness at the block party are welcomed to email Faylism@gmail.com.  Performers are also needed so if you would like to be part of the enterainment feel free to email as well or call 617-938-2031

Family Film Night | August 18th

Children ages 0-18 are welcomed on August 18th at 5:30 Pm to come cool off in the AC while enjoying family film night as they watch Star Wars at Field Corner Branch (1520 Dorchester Ave) of Boston Public Library. Refreshments will be provided and crafts will be made by participants. See you there! 

Splash Dance Party | August 14th

Bring the children to the park to cool off and beat the heat in our spray features and enjoy Turkey Hill's ice cream. Music from Mix 104.1, with games and dancing in the parks.  This event will be held at 40 Almont Park (ages 0-12 are welcomed). The fun starts at 12 ! 

BCYF Girls Night | August 12th

BCYF (Boston Center for Youth & Families) is hosting their girls night on August 12th at Chez Vous! Get ready for the good times to roll for girls ages 10-17. Its going to be a fun night of girl power!

Codman Square Farmers Market | August 15

Come and enjoy Codman Square's Farmer Market this coming Saturday starting at 10 AM. Get fresh groceries as well as help celebrate National Health Center Week. You get a free tote if you purchase from the market ! 

SLOW Roll To The Beach | August 23

Dorchester Bike Coalition presents...S.L.O.W. - Summer Living On Wheels. A rollin' block party on wheels. All ages are welcomed to the event and After the ride join family and friends for fun and free food at Tenean Beach. 

Riding Schedule:
 2pm - 14 Southern Avenue in Codman Square
3pm Magnolia St & Bird St
4pm Tenean Beach, food, games, party until we drop BUT Volunteers, sponsorships, and donations of all sorts are needed. *food*ride marshals*boom box/music trailer*reflective vests*tabling*food distribution*cars/cargo bikes for transporting supplies*much more*.

Dorchester Remembers | August 10th

On August 11, 2015 at 7:00pm  family and community members will gather at a Candlelight Vigil on 91 Devon Street in Dorchester to celebrate the life of Antoine Marquis Dingle-Knight and to honor all victims of violence. In Boston, this year alone, 15 people have been killed. Go out and support/ remember those who arent here.

Artisinal Comedy "Virgo Edition" | August 26

Go and enjoy plenty of laughs on August 26th at 112 Savin Hill Ave for an amazing comedy show. You never know whats going to happen on that stage ! show starts at 8 . It's going to be a great time in Savin Hill.

Remain, Reclaim , Rebuild Boston | August 8th

On August 8th there will be a rally & march in protest of the on going evictions of residents in the Boston Area by Fannie Mae (and Freddie Mac). The rally will start at 26 School Street for a speak out with tenant leaders as well as activities throughout the rest of the weekend.  Go and let your voice be heard as you or someone you may know may be facing this circumstance due to Fannie Mae selling residents homes to investors and removing families from their properties. Speak up and speak out against the evictions taking place right in Boston of families who have lived in these houses for a long time. Show your support by joining the cause. 

Community Clothes Drive | August 22

On August 22nd F.A.M.I.L.Y Movement Inc is hosting a community clothes drive! The event starts as 9AM and ends at 12 Noon. The drive will be held at the Dorchester House Multi Purpose Center on 1353 Dorchester Avenue in the multi purpose room. All clothes must be in great condition!  do not donate undergarments that are not packaged (or unclean), do not donate ripped items and all clothes must be washed before any wearing. Items will go for 1$-5$, bags of clothes will also be accessible (shoes and accesories as well).
