YMOC Summer BBQ | Aug. 25

The Home for Little Wanders, in partnership with Brandeis University, is hosting a day of BBQ and fun as part of our Young Men of Color initiative! This event is part of a series that bring together young men of color with men of color who have navigated many of then same challenges and emerged strong and successful.

Historic New England: New England Home Teams | Aug. 15

Ever wonder why our football team is called the Patriots? Or why the Red Sox are named after their socks? Children root, root, root into the history of New England home teams, explore how they were formed, and discover how teams choose a mascot. Participants invent their own team complete with a name, colors, and a mascot and make a team pennant. For ages 3 and up.

MultiCultural Festival: ImagiNations Without Borders | Aug. 13

The Dudley Street neighborhood's 28th Annual MultiCultural Festival celebrates the cultures, food, and talents of the people of the Dudley neighborhood. Each year's organizing committee selects a theme, and with DSNI's Summer Youth Organizers engage residents and youth in planning the event, seeking sponsors, and working together to develop an array of arts and crafts activities.

Free admission | Giveaways | Live Entertainment Special performances from Zili Misik, CircusUp and much more! Cultural food, Vendors and fun activities for the whole family!

Concerts at Castle Island | Aug. 6

Berklee, WUMB 91.9 FM, UMass Boston and the DCR have teamed up to bring free live music to Castle Island. Musical genres will blend between folk, bluegrass, and pop.

Come early and make a day of it! Swim at Pleasure Bay, enjoy a free tour of Fort Independence between noon and 3:30 pm with the Castle Island Association, grab lunch at Sullivan's or just relax in the shade!

Parking fills up early so public transportation is encouraged!

Splash Dance Party at Almont Park | Aug. 5

Huntington-Codman Summer Theatre Institute Presents: "Romeo & Juliet"

For the summer, 25-30 Codman students participate in an intensive theatre boot camp. Summer program participants are motivated to learn and explore in a theatre environment. This program leverages their enthusiasm, providing learning exercises and hands-on experience to help students understand and embody Shakespeare’s text. They also put together this play (Romeo & Juliet) by William Shakespeare and will be displaying it at the end of the program.

When: Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29 at 7pm
