Boston Caribbean Carnival | Aug. 27

The parade begins from Martin Luther King Boulevard in Roxbury, off Warren Street. The bands and their masqueraders adorn the street with spetacualr colrs and sounds that signal the arrival ofcarnival. The parade proceeds along Warren Street thorugh Grove Hall then onto Dorchester's Franklin Park with followers in tow. Spectators lined te streets to witness the enourmous spectacles as it unfolds. So many children and adluts dance the street all day long. You will observe happiness and excitement. Nearly one million people compromised of diversity engage in the day's festivities, singing and dancing and having a great time!

Nature Story Hour | Aug. 24

Join the BOSTON NATURE CENTER and their hedgehog, Sugar, as we read The Hedgehog Leaves Home. We will get to see and pet a hedgehog, while learning about how they live. This program is ideal for 3-8 year olds, but older and younger siblings are also welcome to attend.

Brew at the Franklin Park Zoo | Aug. 20

This event is 21+. Franklin Park Zoo will close at 1:00 p.m. in preparation for the event.

Sip some delicious brews and visit with western lowland gorillas, ring-tailed lemurs, ocelots, pygmy hippos, and other species in the Zoo's Tropical Forest Pavilion, as well as giraffes, zebras, kangaroos and many other animals. Don't miss a visit to Aussie Aviary, a seasonal free-flight aviary featuring brightly-colored budgies!

Tickets cost $60 in advance and $65 at the door. VIP tickets will be available for $100.
