Friends of the Mattapan Branch Library are holidng their 4th annual "Why can't we be friends?" book, cookout, and yard sale at the Mattapan Branch Library from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Admission is $3 per child, $5 per adult, and $10 per family.

This includes a freshly prepared meal and a free book or magazine.

Annual celebration of Dorchester's founding in 1630.

The Dorchester Day Parade along Dorchester Avenue is coming up on Sunday, June 6th.

The Parade starts at 1:00 p.m. in Lower Mills and travels 3.2 miles north on Dorchester Avenue ending at the intersection of Columbia Road and Dorchester Avenue.

Lower Mills Task Force Meeting, May 24

Boston Public Library officials are organizing a meeting for Monday, May 24, to form a task force to discuss the plans to close the Lower Mills Library. The meeting will be at 6:30 pm on Monday at Carney Hospital, in the president’s board room.

The meeting will discuss transitioning services from the library.
