Donate Flashlights and Batteries to Haiti

Mass Community Health Services (MCHS) will be hosting a "Light Drive For Haiti" at 1106 Main street, Suite 109, Brockton MA.

They will be taking flashlights, batteries, and money that they raise to help in the relief efforts in Haiti. Please bring in your donations to the MCHS office from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. This is an ongoing effort.

Free Winter Coats!, Jan 25

The Dorchester Youth Council is partnering with the Burlington Coat Factory (BCF) on their annual Warm Coats Warm Hearts Coat Drive.

Clients being served at DotWell and partner health centers (Dorchester House and Codman Square) who are in need of a warm coat are invited to the Warm Coat, Warm Heart event at the Dorchester House gym on Monday, January 25 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.

Survivors Support, Jan 19

A call to survivors - As the Nation is reaching out to support our neighbors in Haiti through this traumatic experience, the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute would like to open our arms to survivors.

While there are many resources available for the relief efforts, we are also opening our doors as a safe space for families. As an organization who deals with Trauma, Grief and Loss we recognize this traumatic event can re-traumatize us and bring up feelings from our loss and grief. Redesign a Neighborhood Garden, Jan 14

Ever heard of the Nightingale Community Garden? It's a large plot of land with a lot of potential as a Community Garden at 512 Park Street. Join in the conversation to renovate this community space.

A community meeting to discuss re-design of the Nightingale Community Garden is happening on Thursday January 14 at 6:30 PM at the Codman Square Health Center Tech Center 450 Washington Street (corner of Park Street, across from KFC).
