Public Meeting on Morton Street's Future Nov. 22
MassDOT will be hosting a public meeting on Morton Street's Future. The meeting will be held by MassDOT to discuss several aspects of Morton Street on the border of Mattapan and Dorchester. The meeting will be on November 22, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mildred Ave. School Auditorium. The meeting is set to discuss several aspects of Morton Street on the border of Mattapan and Dorchester. The agenda includes:
- Morton Street Bridge Replacement Project,
- Morton St. Roadway Safety Audit,
- Casey Overpass Planning Study
- MassDOT Job Training Opportunities
Morton Street is wide enough to have a physically seperated bike lane, stretching from Harvard Street to Shea Circle in Jamaica Plain. This would connect riders to the bike path slated to be installed along with the Casey Overpass, which would connect to the Southwest Corridor park and all the way to Back Bay Station. The state needs to hear from the community in order to install one - so it is important for you to attend this meeting!
The Mildred Ave. School Auditorium is located at 3 Mildred Avenue in Mattapan.
