Doll E. Daze | April 22

Fields Corner Branch Library

On Tuesday, April 22 the Fields Corner Branch Library will host Doll E. Daze from 1 pm until 2 pm. This event will take place at the Fields Corner Branch Library located at 1520 Dorchester Avenue in Dorchester. Join the library for an intergenerational doll making program. Set on the coast of Africa, nearly 300 years ago, the tale of Cecilia’s wrap doll was told many times by Grandma Elmira. Today this tale has been recreated into a performance that captivates its audience as they learn the secrets of enslaved children’s courage.

This 30 minute oral presentation culminates with doll making instructions and creation of the audiences' own doll interpretation of Cecilia the dream fairy. For more information about this event, contact Emily Todd, Programs and Community Outreach Librarian at or call 617-436-2155.
