For ages 0-5:
Preschool Story Time, every Tuesday, 10:30-11:15 – We will sing songs, read books, be active, and make crafts together as we strengthen early literacy skills. Special yoga guest on December 2! Best for ages 3-5. If bringing a group of more than 5 children, please call at least one day in advance: 617-265-0139.
 
For ages 5 and up:
Doll E Daze African Doll-Making Workshop and Giveaway, Thursday, December 4, 5:00-7:00 – Debra Britt brings her popular African doll-making workshop back to the library, followed by a giveaway of dolls from her own priceless collection.
Rainbow Loom Bracelets, Wednesday, December 10, 4:00-5:00 – Get a head start on gift giving by making colorful rainbow loom bracelets for friends and family.
Hanukkah Dreidel Game, Monday, December 15, 4:30-5:30 – Come learn about dreidel, a traditional game of luck played during Hanukkah with nuts and chocolate.
 
For ages 8 and up:
STEM Challenge: Circuits, Friday, December 5, 3:30-4:30 – Come test your knowledge of how circuits work while building a fun circuit game to take home.
Christmas Candy Garlands, Monday, December 22, 4:30-5:30 – Practice your sewing skills and make fun Christmas gumdrop garlands to wear as necklaces or hang as a tasty treat on your tree.
 
For all ages:
Homework Help Mentor Program, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 3:30-5:30 – Come get *free* homework help from neighborhood high school students for students in grades K-8. No registration required.
Lego Builders, Tuesday, December 2, 16, and 30, 4:00-5:30, and Saturday, December 6, 11:00-12:30 – Come build anything and everything with the library’s fun Lego collection, including 35 Lego people and Duplos for younger builders.
Holiday Open House, Thursday, December 11, 6:30-7:30 – Get in the holiday spirit with jazz music and delicious refreshments.
Winter Scene Painting, Thursday, December 18, 4:30-5:30 – Celebrate the start of winter by painting wintry scenes to decorate the library or your house.
Friday Family Film: Elf, Friday, December 19, 2:30-4:30 – Nurture your inner child with this hilarious film about the magic of Christmas.
Drop-in Kwanzaa Craft, Monday, December 29 – Get in the mood for Kwanzaa with this simple and colorful Kwanzaa candle craft.
Giant Snakes and Ladders Game, Wednesday, December 31, 2:30-4:00 – Come challenge friends, family, or Miss Emily to a super-sized game of snakes and ladders.

 

Anyone is welcome to attend any of the library programs, as long as children under 7 are accompanied by a parent or guardian!
