Greater Chamberlain Association Meeting | March 19 2012
The March Greater Chamberlain Association Meeting was held at 35 Chamberlain Street, the house of Ms. Butler, a longtime resident and member of the association. The meeting began with crime reports, which included few notable occurances. A resident's home was broken into while he was away for three days. An announcement was made about an Advisory Crime Meeting on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. The meeting is to be held at the Joseph Lee School at 155 Talbot Ave. in Dorchester at 5:30 p.m. The rest of the meeting was spent discussing a Millenium 10 grant update. GFCAC is creating new focus groups for future funding. Contact the coalition to find out more about these groups - they are looking for diverse residents to find out information. The Greater Four Corners clean-up will most likely take place the same time as the Boston Shines Clean-up. Possible plans for this include removing grafitti, planting flowers, and even planting trees.
The next meeting will be held on May 21, 2012. Also, take note of a community meeting concerning the space recently acquired by the Dorchester Arts Collaborative at 157 Washington Street on Saturday, March 24. For more information contact Bob Thornell at rwthor [at] aol.com or at 617.436.0519.
