Columbia-Savin Hill Meeting | April 2
The April 2nd Columbia-Savin Hill Civic Association meeting was held at Cristo Rey School on Savin Hill Ave, located very close to the Savin Hill T-station. The meeting had a large attendance of around 40 people. The meeting began with safety reports from Officer Keaney,. Philip DiSalvio, the dean of UMass Boston's University College spoke about the school's programs. UMass Boston has become a model for urban public education. He highlighted the programs available at University College. The program is for adults who may not have finished their bachelor's degree go back to school. The community also discussed the City of Boston's Triple Decker Preservation Program. The organization is also planning for this year's Boston Shines event. Karen Diep of Van Shabu Restaurant & Bar gave a presentation of what the restaurant has to offer, and provided samples from their hot pot and sushi menu.
