Dorchester Bike Festival | April 27

Join the Dorchester Bike Festival on Saturday April 27, 2014 from 9am to noon.
Location: Pedal & Park Bike Parking Facility on Dorchester Avenue by the Ashmont T Station

Breakfast will be provided!


9am-11am - enjoy some free breakfast and get to know the Ashmont Pedal & Park facility, which enables commuters to park their bikes before catching buses and trains at the Ashmont T Station. There will be free bike tune-ups and family friendly activities to raise awareness about safe bicycling practices. You can also enter to win prizes.

Tour de France Viewing @ Tavolo | July 18

The 100th Tour de France is underway and it has been an exciting race so far! The final week in the Alps should be just as exciting. Tavolo (1918 Dorchester Ave) is hosting a TdF viewing on July 18 from 8pm to 11pm, along with Ashmont Cycles and Dot Bike. For more info, click HERE or call 617-822-1918.

Bicycle Workshop with Ashmont Cycles | May 28


May is Bike Month! Do you ride a bike? Do you want to know more about bikes? Would you like to learn more about riding in the city? Ashmont Cycles is bringing bike resources to Grove Hall for a workshop on urban bicycle riding. Come for a chance to win bicycle-themed prizes donated by Boston Bikes and the Boston Cyclist Union. Wednesday Night Bike Rides

At 6pm every Wednesday night, Ashmont Cycles is hosting a morning ride. There will be a fast pace ride that is 34 miles, and a slower pace ride that is 16 miles. All riders are encouraged to use lights! The ride starts at Ashmont Cycles (551A Talbot Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02124). Call 617-480-9429 or email for information.

Sunday Morning Bike Rides

At 6am every Sunday morning, Ashmont Cycles is hosting a morning ride. The course is a 40-mile loop through Milton, Canton, breakfast stop in Stoughton, and return via Quincy.  This is a "no drop" 15 mph ride. There will be a Dot Day Sale at Ashmont Cycles this weekend from Saturday, June 2 - Sunday, June 3.  Deals include: 5% off of all bikes and 10% off of all accessories (parts and labor not included in sale).

Bike Week Breakfast | May 14

Kick off Bike Week and stop in for a free bike commuter breakfast at Ashmont Cycles your friendly local neighborhood bike shop.  It doesn't matter how short or far your commute is - just come by bike and enjoy some tasty fare before you pedal off to work.
The event is being held on May 14 from 7:30AM to 8:30AM at Ashmont Cycles located at 551 Talbot Avenue, Dorchester, MA.

Free Basic Bike Maintenance Class, Oct. 30

Do you want to learn how to change a flat tire? Have questions about what you can do to get the best performance from your bike? Want to continue to ride even though the halcyon days of summer are gone? Come to Ashmont Cycles (551A Talbot Ave., Dorchester) at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, October 30th, for instruction/discussion about those and other bike-related matters. Bring your bike or a wheel from the bike and be prepared to get your hands dirty. Coffee and donuts/bagels will be provided.
