Concert Chorus Workshop | March 25

The Concert Chorus of Parish of All Saints (209 Ashmont Street, Dorchester, MA) is putting on a free workshop this Sunday, March 25 from 4PM to 6:30PM, where participants will be able to learn and join in with two chorus instructors, Mollie Stone (Chicago Children's Chorus) and Patty Cuyler (Village Harmony), as they belt out music from South Africa and Georgia.  To RSVP, please email: jmoney@bostoncitysingers.org

Try Out a Free Class with Boston City Singers Jan. 11

Do you have or know a child that loves to sing? Try out a class with Boston City Singers for Free! On Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. the organization will be offering just that. For children ages 4 to 7, there is the Kodály Singing Class, and a Training Chorus Program for children in grades 2 - 6. A Service of Nine Lessons & Carols Dec. 18

The Parish of All Saints, Ashmont invites the public to A Service of Nine Lessons & Carols, sung by the Choir of Men & Boys. The event will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 18th. The performance will be an exciting variety of readings and carols for the season, including works by Cleobury, Darke, Howells, Josquin des Prez, Vaughn Williams, Willan, Willcocks, and others. The parish's choir of Men & Boys follows the English cathedral choral tradition, and is one of only 30 such choirs in the United States! The Parish is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is the first chuch designed by Ralph Adams Cram. Organ Concert @ All Saints Nov. 13

On Sunday, November 13, at 4:00 p.m., internationally acclaimed organist Joan Lippincott will perform on the magnificent Fisk organ at Parish of All Saints! She will be playing the music of Bach, Rorem, Liszt, and Alain. General Admission will be $20 and $15 for seniors and students. The show is a joint presentation of All Saints, Ashmont, and the Boston chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Jane Jacobs Panel Discussion Nov. 11

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the publication of writer and activist Jane Jacobs' Death and Life of Great American Cities the Dorchester Speaker’s Forum will host a panel discussion on Friday, November 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Peabody Hall at All Saints' Church, 209 Ashmont Street. Panelists will include former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis, Glenna Lang, author of Genius of Common Sense, a book for young people about the life and work of Jane Jacobs, and architect David Lee, of Boston Based Stull and Lee. The event is FREE and open to the public!

Praxis Quartet @ Peabody Hall Nov. 6

On Sunday, November 6th, Ashmont Hill Chamber Music will present the Praxis Quartet - a young ensemble from New York that has met great acclaim. General Admission is $15, Senior Citizens & Students can enter for $12, and it is $35 for family admission. The show will be held at Peabody Hall at the Parish of All Saints, 209 Ashmont Street, Dorchester. All Saints Church is conveniently located a block from the Ashmont Station on the Red Line - drop by for a phenomenal concert! The quartet will feature Esther Noh and Courtney Orlando on violin, Arthur Dibble on viola, and Brian Snow on cello.

SMAMS Annual Meeting Honors Maureen Feeney, May 24

SMAMS will hold its Annual Meeting Tuesday, May 24, 6:30 p.m. at All Saints Church Hall, 209 Ashmont Street. Members will vote on the work plan and budget for the coming year and elect a board of directors. All are welcome to attend.

Featured speaker will be District 3 City Councillor Maureen Feeney, who will receive a lifetime service award for many years of amazingly dedicated and effective service to our neighborhood. Please join all of Dorchester in congratulating Maureen and wishing her the best! Refreshments provided by Ashmont Grill!

The sale will take place on Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - rain or shine!
