Putting Your Garden to Bed (Leyland Garden), Oct. 6

The end of the growing season is just around the corner! On October 6, learn the options for wrapping up the season right, including mulch, cover crops and growing fall vegetables. Free cover crop seed will be available for workshop participants. Come to Leyland Street Community Garden, 6 - 18 Leyland St., Dorchester, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Can't make it? Caribbean Sounds of Steel Pan Music at Nightingale, Sep. 7

Close out the summer in Caribbean style! Enjoy the sounds of Trevor Comma’s steel pan music originated in the West Indian Island of Trinidad and Tobago. Nightingale Community Garden Grand Opening, Aug. 6

Nightingale Community GardenYou are invited to the Nightingale Community Garden Grand Opening on Saturday, August 6, 2011! Join Mayor Thomas M. Menino, gardeners, neighbors, supporters and special guests at 12:30 p.m. to celebrate the inaugural season of bounty at the expanded and renovated Community Garden. Explore 130 individual garden plots full of vegetables, herbs and flowers.
