Culinary Couples Night | May 15

Make your date memorable and have a good time with your significant other! The Kroc Center is hosting a Culinary Couples Night where couples will prepare and cook a delicious meal together. The event will take place at 650 Dudley Street in a state-of-the-art culinary arts training kitchen alongside a professional chef. Later, enjoy a scrumptious dinner in the dining hall to smooth and soothing music. Don't have a date? Bring a friend, sibling or co-worker! Singles are welcome to pay half the couples' rate. The event will take place on May 15 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and will cost $50/couple for members and $60/couple for non-members. Uphams Corner Open House | January 22

Wednesday, January 22 at 5pm, As the end of the Fairmount Indigo Planning Initiative draws near, please join the open house to learn about recommendations for economic development, street improvements, and housing in Upham's Corner. Your input will help create a final report to help us collectively work to implement the recommendations.

KROC Holi-daze Kidz Bazaar | January 2

Thursday January 2, take your family to the Holi-daze Kidz Bazaar and enjoy interactive activities during the extended holiday break. Open special vacation hours for you and your child can take part in activities like "You Craft It" workshop, "Dance, Dance December" and even fun videogaming at Game Central.

Saturday, December 21st from 11:00am-2:30pm will have the Miracle on Dudley Street Christmas Children's Celebration
 
This event is for FREE for children ages 6-12 involved in your program or network. Since this event is not open to the public,we require the children to be registered through an agency partner, program  or affiliate. FYI- this is a supervised "kids-only" fun filled event!

E-Raps Music Production Company | July 20 to August 10

Know a teen who likes to rhyme or make beats? The Kroc Community Center (650 Dudley Street in Dorchester) presents E-Raps, an educational music production program. Students will learn to write bars, rap smoothly and handle sound engineering equipment. Students even get to record a CD! This program will run every Saturday  from 9am to noon (July 20 to August 10. Free Dance Workshop for Kids | July 13

Calling all kids ages 6 thru 13! Don't miss this free Dance Workshop offered by the Kroc Center of Boston. The workshop will take place on July 13 from 11am to 12:30pm at 650 Dudley Street in Dorchester. No membership required, but must pre-register. Dribble, Dish, and Swish - Free Basketball Skills Competition Nov.4

The Salvation Army Kroc Center Boston will be a regional host site for the national NBA FIT / WNBA FIT Dribble, Dish & Swish basketball skills competition on November 4. The skills and speed obstacle course – which will have kids dribbling, passing and shooting in a timed accuracy competition – is sponsored by the NBA and WNBA and presented by Pepperidge Farm. The contest is FREE and open to children ages 7-12 years old, who will compete in three age groups (7-8, 9-10 and 11-12).

Some of the female and male winners in each group may then be eligible to move on to compete in the Regional Competition at the Celtics practice space in Waltham, Mass. Top score-getters from that contest will be eligible to battle it out with the best youth players in the U.S. at the Dribble, Dish & Swish National Finals in Orlando, Florida in February, 2012.

The competition is Friday, November 4, 2011 from 4 to 6pm at The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Boston which is located on 650 Dudley Street, Boston, MA.

Kroc-o-Treat Oct. 31

Looking for a safe place to enjoy All Hallow's Eve this year? The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center will open its doors for a FREE Kroc-o-Treat holiday bash! The event is open to all area youth, both members and non-members of the center. About 350 children are expected to attend! The evening will offer trick-or-treating, a bouncy house, pumpkin-inspired arts and crafts and carnival games! Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes, and, group lessons for dancing to "Thriller" will be taught in the gym every half hour. All children must be accompanied by an adult and will receive a wrist band when they enter our secure building, along with a decorative bag for trick-or-treating.

NAACP Racial Discrimination Training, Jun. 8

How do you prove it? On Wednesday, June 8, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Boston Branch NAACP will hosting a Racial Discrimination Training at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, located at 650 Dudley Street, Dorchester. The training is co-sponsored with the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts' Young Professional's Network (YNPN) and the Fair Housing Center of Greater Boston, and supported by the Attorney General's Civil Rights Division and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD).
