Tired of renting? Want to buy your first home? Attend the homebuyer classes hosted by NuestraCDC. Classes will be from 6pm to 9pm on November 1, November 8 and November 15. You were learn about: Homeownership, getting a mortgage, down payment/closing cost, and assistance programs. Classes will take place at 56 Warren Street in Roxbury. Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program, Deadline Jul. 22

Nuestra CDCThe U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has launched the Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program (EHLP). The program is designed to provide mortgage payment relief to eligible homeowners experiencing a drop in income of at least 15 percent, directly resulting from involuntary unemployment or underemployment due to adverse economic conditions and/or a medical emergency. The mortgage relief covers past-due mortgage payments, as well as a portion of the homeowner's mortgage payment for up to 24 months (up to $50,000).

Nuestra is working to assist local homeowners through the EHLP process. The deadline to apply is July 22, 201. Individuals may be eligible to receive $50,000 in mortgage assistance for up to 24 months. To apply, call (617) 334-5788 or email homeownership@nuestracdc.org. Read more here.

Generations of Hope Community Garden Reopening, May 27

Partnership for Greening Blue Hill AveNuestra Comunidad Development Corporation (Nuestra) and YouthBuild Boston are pleased to announce the grand reopening of the Generations of Hope Community Garden! You are invited to join YouthBuild Boston students and staff, local gardeners, Nuestra employees, and seniors from Nuestra’s nearby GrandFamilies and Hope in Dorchester housing developments at a reopening event on Friday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 87-89 Nightingale Street in Dorchester. Plant apple trees, vegetable seedlings and ornamental plantings and celebrate the culmination of the redesign and renovation process! The 9 to 11:30 a.m. work session will be followed by an apple tree planting and ceremony 11:30 to 12 p.m.
