Four Corners Plaza Public Meeting | June 17

Codman Square NDC is proposing to construct a mixed-use, affordable housing development in Dorchester consisting of a four-story building at 10–18 Bowdoin Street, with 28 affordable rental units and a commercial/retail space and three affordable rental townhomes at 100–104 Bowdoin Avenue. In addition, the development will have parking for up to 42 total spaces on-site/off-street.

They will cover topics involving key development areas, feasability implications and zoning/urban design implications. The public are encouraged to attend and provide feedback.

BRA Fairmount / Indigo Line Planning Initiative @ Strand Theatre Feb. 21

fairmount line mapThe BRA Fairmount Indigo Planning Initiative is kicking off Feb 21st! The Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) and Mayor Menino are announcing the planning process at the Strand Theater on Tuesday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m.

The BRA planning process will engage local businesses and residents and bring in new investments around a community-based vision for Upham's Corner and crossroads improvement plans for 3 or 4 other station areas traversed by the Fairmount / Indigo line. Final BRA Zoning Update Meeting at Viet-AID Jan. 25

On Wednesday, January 25th at 6:30 p.m. there will be the third and final community meeting of the BRA's Dorchester Avenue zoning update process. Following this meeting, community feedback is invited during a 30 day comment period. The meeting will be held at Viet-AID, 42 Charles Street in Dorchester. Objectives of the zoning update initiative include:

- Providing zoning recommendations for the incorporation of Dorchester Avenue zoning regulations into general Dorchester neighborhood zoning regulations.

- Correct inconsistencies between the current Dorchester Avenue and Dorchester zoning districts.

- Where appropriate, update the zoning along Dorchester Avenue to reflect current and potential future land uses.

Urban Agriculture Overlay District Hearing Nov. 16

On Wednesday, November 16th, there will be a meeting at 9:00 a.m. in Boston City Hall, on the 9th floor of the Boston Redevelopment Authority Board Room. This public hearing before the Boston Zoning Commission is to consider a proposed text amendment to establish an Urban Agriculture Overlay District (UAOD) in Dorchester and a proposed map amendment to apply the UAOD to two city-owned properties. The proposed Overlay District would essentially allow the cultivation of fruits and vegetables and composting of materials produced on site. Under this proposal, the Urban Agriculture Overlay District would be applied to two Dorchester properties, 23-29 Tucker Street and 131 Glenway Street.
