Dot Ave trotters take note: the Boston marketing firm Cone will be doing its annual Service Day on Dorchester Avenue from Fields Corner to Peabody Square on Thursday, October 6. More than 100 Cone employees will volunteer to help Fields Corner Main Street plant bulbs, landscape, clean up litter and paint murals! Area residents are encouraged to come out to welcome the volunteers, spend a little extra time sprucing up their business storefronts or join FCMS if able. Chinatown/Roxbury Cultural & Arts Show, Sept 1st

Save the Date!  The communities of Roxbury and Chinatown are collaborating to provide a cultural and arts show that’s free to the public at the Strand Theatre in Dorchester at 543 Columbia Road,  5:00 PM – 7:30 PM, Thursday, Sept. 1st.   Performances and presentations in the visual arts, Hip Hop,  Lion Dance, Spoken Word, Chinese youth drum ensemble, African Dance , Asian Folk Dance , and sounds by the Soul 4 Your System, a funky groove band.

Clemente Course Now Accepting Applications!

Clemente CourseThe Clemente Course, a comprehensive introduction to the humanities through the study of literature, art history, philosophy and American history, is now accepting applications for the 2011-2012 season! During the course, students are coached in writing and developing critical thinking skills. The Clemente Course is accredited by Bard College and qualifies students for six college credits upon successful completion of the program. Accepted students receive the benefits of this wonderful program for free - please spread the word about this incredible opportunity for educational enrichment.

"A Tribute to August Wilson," Jul. 28 and 29

Codman Academy Charter Public School and the Huntington Theatre Company cordially invite you to their 6th Annual Summer Theatre Institute, presenting "A Tribute to August Wilson."
