Treasure Hunt on Spectacle Island | Oct. 27

On October 27, Save the Harbor Save the Bay is hosting a treasure hunt to Spectacle Island. The treasure hunt will depart from the Bay State Cruise Company's Dock in South Boston at 10am. It will return at 2:30pm. For directions, click HERE. There will be refreshments but you are welcome to bring your own lunch. After the cruise, you may share your stories with The best story will win a blue beach glass marble and a chance to win 40,000 TrueBlue points with JetBlue Airways.

Swim for Boston Harbor | August 19

Save the Harbor / Save the Bay presents Swim for Boston Harbor! This event is a one mile championship swim. The swim will take place at M Street Beach in South Boston. The swimmer who raises the most money to support Save the Harbor will win 2 round trip tickets on JetBlue to any non-stop destination. The first place male and female swimmers will be entered into a drawing to win tickets as well. The best bathing suit/beach costume will also win a prize. For more info, visit

Cupid Splash @ Malibu Beach March 24

Malibu Beach in Dorchester , and 6 other locations in Boston, will be the site of a "cupid splash" on March 24 to benefit Save The Harbor / Save The Bay!

At 12 noon, "cupids" will dash and splash in the water to demonstrate their commitment to a clean Boston Harbor and to support their beach. Immediately following the splash, participants and their fans and friends will adjourn to a local pub – to warm up, eat lunch, and relax with a Harpoon beer. The first 2 beers for each participating “cupid” is on Save The Harbor / Save The Bay!

Cupid Splash Kick-Off @ Harpoon Brewery Feb. 1

Meet at Harpoon Brewery on Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00 p.m. for the 2nd Annual Cupid Splash kick-off party! The Annual Cupid Splash, sponsored by Save The Harbor / Save The Bay, will be held at the BCYF Curley Community Center on March 24, and at 7 other locations throughout Boston, including Tenean Beach in Dorchester. Participants raise funds to support Save the Harbor/Save the Bay and its Better Beaches program. Participants are encouraged to sport their finest “cupid” attire!

"Blue is Back" Family Beach Bash and Splash, Aug. 12 and 13

Save the Harbor/Save the Bay "Best Beaches"Save the Harbor / Save the Bay will host the "Blue is Back" Family Beach Bash and Splash for kids and families on Carson Beach on August 12 and 13, 2011. On Friday, August 12 the celebration will kick off with a day of kids' events and activities on Carson Beach, including a sand castle competition and kite-flying contest.
