Boston City Singers: Advance Screening Movie | August 23

Boston City Singers invites you to an advanced movie screening of Pitch Perfect (PG-13). The screening will take place on August 23 at 6pm. The theater is "AMC Braintree 10". Outdoor Film at Almont Park | August 6

Come to Hunt-Almont Park on August 6 for Mayor Menino’s Movie Nights. The movie nights are part of the City of Boston’s ParkARTS program. "The Game Plan" will be the movie showing. On November 11th, Dot2Dot will be hosting a dinner and movie night! The featured movie will be "Like Water for Chocolate," a movie based on a novel by Laura Esquivel, and winner of 11 Ariel awards. The movie is a whimsical love story in which food plays a very important part. Set in Mexico and released as a novel in 1989, "Like Water for Chocolate" was the highest grossing movie for its time. Haiti Movie Awards, Nov. 20

MPAH Movie Award

Motion Picture Association of Haiti, Inc. presents the 2011 MPAH Movie Awards, to encourage and honor Haitian filmmakers at home and abroad. The Awards will take place on November 20, 2011, at UMass Boston (100 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston, MA.) from 5:30 p.m. on.  In addition to recognized high-achieving films and their creators, the event will feature a series of special awards, including one for humanitarian figures that gave themselves to the cause of Haiti and the earthquake aftermath. Humanitarian Award recipients are Governor Deval Patrick, State Rep. Linda Dorcena Forry and actor Jimmy Jean Louis.

"Gnomeo and Juliet" in Garvey Park, Jul. 22

Thanks to BCYF, Garvey Park will be R.O.C.K.ing on July 22. The Leahy-Holloran Community Center has secured equipment to host a FREE outdoor movie in right field of Garvey Park @ 8:20 p.m. Bring some snacks, a blanket or chairs and bug spray and enjoy Gnomeo and Juliet. The more families and neighbors that come out and enjoy this great evening, the more likely it will happen again! While there, ask about all the great programming that is taking place thanks to the Leahy~Holloran Community Center and their partners: BCYF, Boston R.O.C.K.S., St. Ann CYO/Youth Ministry, PHNA and the Bostonian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
