23rd Annual Dorchester/Roxbury/Mattapan Community Seder | April 30

The Seder includes telling the story of Passover, singing songs, and eating dinner. It's a great opportunity to get to know each other in the context of discussing themes of slavery and freedom. Family friendly... with a special prize for the hidden afikomen (dessert matzah) after the meal! 

The 2016 Dorchester/Roxbury/Mattapan Community Seder will be the 23rd that has been organized by a group of Jewish friends and neighbors, hosted by First Parish Dorchester (Unitarian Universalist).  >> Read More

April Ghoul's Day Ride | April 30

Join Dot Bike for a guided 6-mile ride touring Dorchester North (est. 1634) and South (1814) Burying Grounds and Cedar Grove Cemetery (1867). Meet your living, bicycling neighbors and some not-so-living neighbors and learn a few fun facts about Dorchester’s famous burying grounds! The route will include a stretch of the lovely Neponset River path, including the falls at Lower Mills.

CGCA 80th Anniversary | April 28

Cedar Grove Civic Association has been in existence for 80 consecutive years!!
They have a lot to of accomplishments to be proud of as a neighborhood and community. 
They have created a committee to put together this event to bring folks together from the last 80 years to celebrate the history. That's the history of past civic presidents, engaged citizens, local elected officials, and new neighbors alike and ALL are invited to attend. It's a fun evening of celebration, of memories, history, and maybe even new ventures and friendships created. 

They will acknowledge this year's Good Neighbor (Theresa Lohmar) and Good Business Award (Greenhill's Bakery) as well as give the Ray Donahoe Lifetime Achievement Award to Gerard Adomunes of Gerard's Restaurant at this event instead of the general monthly May meeting.
