Mayor's Cup Youth Tennis Tournament | Jul. 26

Boston’s summer tennis programs and City-owned courts enable young people to master the game in their own neighborhoods.  

Singles, doubles and quick start competitions will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the week according to age groups including 8 and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under, and 18 and under. 

When: July 26, at 5pm

Where: Harambee Park, 950 Blue Hill Avenue, Dorchester.

Eligible Boston residents must pre-register for the tournament by July 26 at 5 p.m.

Ronan Park Kite and Frisbee Festival | July 14

Join your neighbors for the annual Ronan Park Kite and Frisbee Festival! On Sunday, July 14, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm there will be great activities at the Ronan Park Baseball Field. There will be more details as the event gets closer, but there will definitely be a neighborhood cook-out, and free kites for the first 25 kids to arrive. Ronan Park Summer Festival | June 22

On Friday, June 22, the Friends of Ronan Park will be hosting a Family Festival! Celebrate summer in your local park with neighbors and a variety of fun activities. At 6:00 pm there will be a cookout, games, face painting, and maybe even juggling demos! The event is free of cost. For more information, contact Friends of Ronan Park at info@friendsofronanpark.org. Neponset River Trail Public Meeting Aug. 30

On Tuesday, August 30, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., at the Foley Senior Residences Dining Room, 249 River Street, Mattapan, the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will discuss, and solicit public input on, recommended alternative trail extension between Central Avenue in Milton and Blue Hill Avenue in Boston to link the Lower Neponset River Trail to the Neponset Esplanade.

Please help pass along this meeting notice (see flyer attached below) especially to those who live in Mattapan and Milton, to help generate a sizeable community presence at this meeting that can provide feedback about this critical missing piece.
