Boston Archdiocesan Choir School Open Auditions, Jan 26/Feb 2

In January and February the Boston Archdiocesan Choir School is offering open auditions for the next school year. One of the venues for the auditions will be Pope John II Catholic Academy, Lower Mills Campus, in Dorchester. Auditions there on Thursday, January 26, will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Boys currently in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade may audition. Families unable to be at the open auditions may schedule an audition at the school at another time by e-mailing Mr. John Robinson, Music Director, or by calling the school office at 617-868-8658.

The Choir School, located at St. Paul's Church in Cambridge, will also hold an open house on Thursday, February 2, from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. Families may call 617-868-8658 to register. As the only Roman Catholic boys' choir school in the United States, the school provides unique musical and educational opportunities for local boys. Several boys from Dorchester currently attend the school.

UCNWA meeting Jan 10: St Kevin's developers to present

At their first 2012 meeting on Tuesday Jan 10th, the Upham's Corner Westside Neighborhood Association is expecting representatives from POUA (the Planning Office for Urban Affairs affiliated with the Boston Archdiocese), the developer working on the plans for the St Kevin's property, to be first on the agenda with current plans and status of the project.

The meeting will be at 6:30 PM in the usual meeting location, the Uphams Corner Health Center (415 Columbia Road) - ask at the front desk for the room location. UCWNA encourages interested folks to attend, since this is an important issue for the future of Uphams Corner. For more information contact Bob, and/or see flyer attached below.
