On Sunday, April 27 the Dorchester will host a program at the William Clapp House located at 195 Boston Street in Dorchester. This event will begin at 2 pm. The Stars and Stripes of American Music Program will host Wheaton College Professor Delvyn Case who will explore the music of three American homegrown composers - Charles Ives, Aaron Copland, and George Gershwin - and how they forged a uniquely American style of classical music that incorporated the folk and popular music they heard across the country. Devlyn Case is a composer, conductor, scholar, performer, and educator who has taught at many colleges and universities

4th Annual Chocolate Bake-off & "Eating and Drinking in Colonial New England" at the Dorchester Historical Society, on Sunday, February 17, 2013, 2 - 4pm.
Joe Carlin presents "Eating and Drinking in Colonial New England" an illustrated lecture about the importance of food during the Colonial era; early cookbooks; tavern drinks like rum punch, Madeira and home brewed Ale.
