Homeschool - Dragonflies | November 12

The BNC’s weekly homeschool class combines science education with fun hands-on/minds-on outdoor experiences. Each session will have a unique program taught by Teacher Naturalists, inspired by BNC’s 67 acre wildlife sanctuary and aligned with Massachusetts Science Standards.  Join us as we discover the winter through science, journaling, art and experiential play activities.
 
Parents or caregivers can take advantage of using the Nature Nook or trails while the class moves between activities.
 
Registration is required.

Every Thursday at 10:30am the Boston Nature Center will give children an opportunity to explore the nature around them. The children will have hands on experiences with outdoor and indoor activities. This Event is suitable for children ages 3-6 years of age. Register online or call 617-983-8500 to register by phone.

Nature's Quiet Giants | October 12

Saturday at 11:30am – 12:00pm, surround yourself with the quiet giants in the forest (Trees). You will learn about the structure of the trees and you will have the opportunity to create your own style of tree, and cover it with bright colored leaves. Event is suitable for children 1year – 10 years old, and families. Registration is preferred which can be done online or call 617-983-8500 to register by phone. Walk-ins are welcome.

Fall Forest Festival | October 5

Saturday October 5 between 1pm -4pm come celebrate the season and outdoors with art, nature and recreation at Franklin Park (Glen Road and Circuit Drive Dorchester, 02121). Hike through the Wilderness or let kids, 9 and under ride the bike rodeo between 1-4pm. Bikes for loan or bring your own. You may win a bike from Boston Bikes in the raffle at the close of the event!
 
Take a wild edible tour led by wild foods enthusiast, Russ Cohen from 2:30-4pm. Capture the Franklin Park’s beauty at a watercolor landscapes workshop taught by local artist, Lucilda Dassardo-Cooper from 1-3pm.
