Alzheimer’s Association: Dementia Conversations | March 11

 The Alzheimer’s Association is offering the program Dementia Conversations. Dementia Conversations offers tips on how to have honest and caring dialog about some of the most difficult topics when you are caring for someone with memory problems. The program will cover having going to get a diagnosis or medical care, deciding when it is necessary to stop driving and making plans for managing finances and legal documents.

Call to Action: Know Your Rights! Adult Forum | Feb 27

The Adult forum will focus on positive interactions with law enforcement, stop and frisk and landlord-tenant law. This interactive program will allow participants to absorb information and ask questions. At the conclusion of the program, an advocate will also address CORI-related matters including sealing records. If you would like to seal your record, please bring a copy of your criminal record report.

Call to Action: Know Your Rights! Youth Forum | Feb 26

The MBLA has identified several prevalent issues impacting youth of color in grades 6 through 12 and has developed a program focused on positive interactions with law enforcement, stop and frisk, cyber-bullying and unhealthy teen relationships (domestic violence).  This interactive program will allow youth to come together and voice concerns and personal experiences in these areas, gain knowledge on how to deal with these issues and collectively develop strategies and a plan of action on how to deal with these issues.
