Come to Codman Square Library for an author talk about Portraits of Purpose!

Don West began his career as a news photographer making images of people of color in all facets of community life. His photographs capture the unique spirit of people at work, with their families, and in struggle for what they believe.

Kenneth J. Cooper, a Pulitzer Prize winner, has been a journalist for more  than 30 years. He is the youngest African American to win a Pulitzer for journalism, and possibly the youngest to win the prize in any category.

Celebrating Black History with Music | February 12

Wednesday, February 12 between 4pm-6pm, Boston musician, Bill Lowe (trombonist and tubaist) will connect children with Black History Month through music.

Location will be at the Codman Square Branch of the Boston Public Library at 690 Washington Street Dorchester, MA.

This event is free and suitable for children ages 6-12 (with accompanying adult)

World AIDS Day Event 'Getting to Zero' Heroes | November 30

Saturday November 30 from 1-4pm at the Codman Square Library (on 690 Washington Street) will host the Worlds AIDS Day Event 'Getting to Zero' Heroes.Where are our Heroes? How can you get to "0" (new infections, death & stigma) when prevention and education money have been slashed? We need to raise our voices and help make HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention.
