Operation P.E.A.C.E. Dorchester Youth Center : Computer Lab/Computer Class Schedule

Operation P.E.A.C.E. Dorchester Youth Center:

Their 800-sq/ft center is handicap accessible and was built to provide free learning, technology resources, and an activity space for Dorchester residents. Their computer lab has eight workstations and our After School space has the capacity to serve 12 children, grades K-5.

Computer Lab/Computer Class Schedule 

MONDAY

  • Computer Lab Open Noon-2pm
  • **No Computer classes unless you have scheduled an appointment.

TUESDAY

11:00-Noon Computer Class:

  • Introduction to the computer and it’s parts
  • How to set up Email
  • Facebook
  • Password resets
  • Introduction to Word, Excel, etc

Reimagine Play – On the MOVE – Kids Fitness Program

On the MOVE is a fitness bootcamp for kids ages 5-12 of all fitness levels. The program incorporates fun obstacles courses, agility drills, strength training and body-weight movements to get kids active and strong during the Spring season. 
This Bootcamp: 
  • Teaches fundamental fitness skills and healthy eating habits for optimal performance in sports and other physical activities
  • Improves strength and endurance, while also helping kids develop perseverance, self-esteem and confidence
  • Introduces kids to a variety of active play activities, obstacle courses, and team based games
  • Is led by certified instructors that foster a positive environment and encourage kids to lead a healthy lifestyle

Madison Park Development Corporation Youth Employment Program!

Welcome to Madison Park Development Corporation’s Soheil Turner Youth Leadership Institute (STYLI) 2015 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). Our program provides underserved in-school youth, ages 14-22, with summer job placement, job readiness skills, and educational enrichment.

Our training program is intended to provide early workforce experience for young people who might not otherwise have this opportunity, while supporting them with completing academic summer assignments to start their next academic school year. We also provide organized workshops and learning experiences to develop young people’s leadership skills.

Explore Japan Program in Milton Summer Enrichment/Exchange Program For Girls and Boys 8-18

Pierce Middle School, Milton (boys) July 23 – August 9, 2015 

Milton High School (girls) July 25 – August 11, 2015

 

Explore Japan is a FREE 2 and ½ week enrichment/exchange program where students learn about the many facets of Japanese and Asian culture. The program includes workshops on Japanese arts and crafts, calligraphy, Asian popular culture, martial arts, cuisine, and a variety of interesting and fun cultural exercises. Explore Japan is for girls and boys, ages 8-18. Students learn in small groups (broken down by age) under the guidance of a Japanese cultural teacher and a student aide. The program is held in conjunction with the visit of a group of Japanese students to the area.
