Nature's Quiet Giants | October 12

Saturday at 11:30am – 12:00pm, surround yourself with the quiet giants in the forest (Trees). You will learn about the structure of the trees and you will have the opportunity to create your own style of tree, and cover it with bright colored leaves. Event is suitable for children 1year – 10 years old, and families. Registration is preferred which can be done online or call 617-983-8500 to register by phone. Walk-ins are welcome.

Fall Bird Walk | October 11

Friday at 8:00am – 10:00am  the Boston Nature Center will give children an opportunity to observe the resident birds and fall migrants in their habitat. You will be able to view field marks, hear their sounds and learn about their behaviors. This is a guided walk, binoculars are available upon request. Irish Heritage Festival 16

Irish Heritage Festival is set to return on Columbus Day weekend to Dorchester –  There will be music, dance performances, and other events. Family and children’s activities – from rock climbing to face-painting – as well as other attractions, such as a genealogy tent and visits from Irish wolfhounds and Irish setters, also are on the 2016 schedule.

Zoo Howl | October 26 & 27

Saturday October 26 & Sunday October 27 at 11am, Families are invited to go trick-or-treating in Frankling Park Zoo. Events will include a haunted maze, costume contest, hay rides, and CANDY. Magic 106.7 will be in attendance with music, games, and prizes. The Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts will be engaged with fun arts & craft and other activities as well. The Boston Public Library proudly welcomes the ever popular, kids favorite Toe Jam Puppet Band for zany and exuberant family shows during December vacation week! Toe Jam offers children’s entertainment that families can enjoy together. The unique musical performances are very interactive and theatrical. Audience members of all ages are encouraged to sing and dance along with Toe Jam as they entertain with a unique combination of original songs and interactive storytelling. Get ready for a Car Wash, watch out for the Flying Laundry and be prepared to laugh with glee, Toe Jam style! Toe Jam will be performing songs from their Winter Variety Show, including a Penguin Line Dance and an extraordinary indoor snow storm!
