Lower Mills Holiday Stroll | Nov 20

The kick off with the Tree Lighting is at 5:30 pm in front of Meetinghouse Bank. Join the Brass Ensemble and the Elizabeth Seton Girls’ Choir for a musical ceremony. Goodie bags, hot chocolate and candy canes will be provided by Meetinghouse.  Stop by ester to pick up totes and maps. Carney Hospital will be providing flu shots at the bank, and the trolley will start from St. Greg’s. Santa, balloon artists, warm cider and wine tastings will all be there, along with, new this year, pony rides at City Legends Barbers and live music on the ester patio with heaters flaring and blankets for the asking.

Raffles this year include 6 turkeys provided by STAR Supermarkets, and a health wise basket from Milton Acupuncturist.

Wind down the evening at Standish Village who will be celebrating 20 years in Lower Mills with a huge cake, champagne, strawberries and a harpist.

Sweet History Stroll Along Neponset in Lower Mills | May 10

On Saturday, May 10 join a DCR Park Ranger and Dorchester Historical Society President Earl Taylor on a scenic stroll in Milton and Dorchester Lower Mills to find out more about the similarities between chocolate and the Neponset River. This event will begin at 1 pm.

Explore former Baker Chocolate Factory site and learn about the sweet history of Lower Mills as part of Historic Preservation Month in Massachusetts. The tour will end at the Baker Chocolate Artists Lofts and attendees will have the chance to learn more about the DCR's Historic Curatorship Program that is for children ages 10 and up. Interested individuals will meet at the public parking lot in Milton Lower Mills, beside Milton Yacht Club at 36 Wharf Street in Milton, parking is limited. Public transportation is encourage via Milton Station of the MBTA Mattapan High Speed Line.

Lower Mills Holiday Stroll | November 21

Thursday November 21 at 5:30pm, the sixth annual Lower Mills Holiday Stroll will start with free trolley stops along the stroll route from Carney Hospital to Forbes House Museum in Milton. 
 
Bring your family, friends and neighbors to this magical event. There will be lots of things to do and enjoy.

Journey to Lower Mills | June 2

Don't miss this tour of the Baker Chocolate Complex in Lower Mills at 9:30am on June 2. The Mattapan Line High Speed trolley will depart from Ashmont Station and travel through Boston alongside the newly opened Neponset River Greenway. Don't forget to bring a T fare! (1900 Dorchester Ave)

Lower Mills Civic Association Meeting | April 17 2012

The Lower Mills Civic Association Meeting of Monday, April 17, was held at its usual location and time. The meeting featured guest speaker Felix Arroyo. Area B and Area C Community Police Officers were also present to discuss the latest crime in the neighborhood. Brian Grossman discussed replacing and upgrading cell phone antennas at 2262 Dorchester Avenue. The Association then nominated officers and executive board members. B3 Community Service Officer Ruiz is collecting cans & bottles to help pay for their youth activities! The association asks everyone to bring cans and bottles to the next meeting. B3 is also interested in used baseball or softball equipment. The association also thanks Pat's Pizza and Catering Lower Mills for cooking our chili for the chili cookoff last month to benefit the Dorchester Day Parade!

Fourth Annual Lower Mills Holiday Stroll Nov. 17

The fourth annual Lower Mills Holiday Stroll will take place on Thursday, November 17th from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Lower Mills in Dorchester and Milton Village. Over 40 businesses will be open late offering refreshments, discounts, and work from local artists! At St. Gregory's auditorium on Dorchester Avenue, there will be a balloon clown, Santa, food from local restaurants, and a free reusable shopping tote. Stories, Crafts & Film at Lower Mills Branch Library, Aug. 8

Two great events at Lower Mills Branch Library make Monday, August 8, a blast for families with kids! At 3 p.m., you can enjoy "One World, Many Stories: Storytime & Craft w/ The Pierce House" as part of the Boston Public Library's Summer Reading program. Show up at 6 p.m. for Lower Mills's Monday Night Movie - this time, the film will be "Gnomeo & Juliet."

Greenway Geology Walk in Lower Mills, Jul. 13

GeologyNeponset River Greenway Festival presents Greenway Geology Walk. Meet at Milton T-stop, downstairs. Be there at 6 p.m. to join. Ever wondered about the rocks along the trail and riverbanks? Les Tyrala, registered geologist, will be our guide on this easy walk that passes a number of interesting outcrops in Lower Mills. Registration is required. Tornado Relief Fundraiser, Jul. 12

TornadoOn Tuesday, July 12 from 7 to 9 p.m., Ledge Kitchen and Drinks (2261 Dorchester Avenue, Lower Mills) is hosting a tornado relief fundraiser for Saint Patrick's Parish, Monson and Springfield. Come to support the victims of tornados and have some fun while you're at it. Great activities and delicious food will be available. There will even be some beer tasting! The event is $30 per person.
