Are you ready for your audience? Presenter Anna Koon is a full-time professional artist, writer, creative coach and Jamaica Plain Arts Council board member. She will present a talk titled “The Basics of Open Studios” and give a brief overview of her workshop "Now What.” The discussion is designed to help all artists make the best of Open Studios or any other event in which they are involved.

DAC 4th Fridays: Chuck Sullivan and Vincent Crotty, Mar. 25

All are welcome to the DAC 4th Fridays Potluck on March 25th! Wine and soft drinks provided - just bring yourself, your appetite, and something for the table. If you'd like to contribute to the chili table, bring that along too--or maybe some garnishes (guacamole, tomatoes, sour cream, shredded cheese). Everyone who tries the chili gets to vote on which should be DAC's official entry in the Dorchester Chili Cook-off.

DAC Breakfast at Dot 2 Dot, Mar. 18

Join the Dorchester Arts Collaborative for on March 18 for coffee or tea, Karen's incredible homemade scones and fresh fruit. Artist Renato A. D. Riccioni will discuss his artwork and journal for Sustainability Guild International$5 cover. 

Renato Riccioni is a recognized abstract painter and sculptor in the Italian contemporary arts community. He works with oil, acrylic, terracotta, stone, metal, concrete, paper, and plastic in an abstract and minimalist style. He spent over 20 years as an award-winning director of experimental theater in Rome, where he realized over eighty full-scale theatrical productions. Renato also conducts group and individual sessions on art as therapy. He is the Principal Teacher for the Boston Public School/Museum of Fine Arts Scholarship Program.

Opening reception for new DAC gallery, Mar. 5

Come see the Dorchester Arts Collaborative's new gallery space, Studio D at Pearl Street, located at 11 Pearl Street, Dorchester! Join them on Saturday, March 5, 2011, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the opening reception for their inaugural show, featuring the work of Chuck Sullivan and Vincent Crotty.

Key Programs Offered: 

The Dorchester Arts Collaborative (DAC) is located in Dorchester's first arts center, the Erick Jean Center for the Arts. DAC created and runs an annual Dorchester-wide Open Studios event for local artists which has taken place in multiple locations throughout the community during October each year since 2002.

New events and programs are developed each year - please check DAC's website for the latest.
