The City of Boston invites you to join your community for a Bike Ride for Peace.

When: Saturday, August 20 at 8am

Where: Harambee Park, Talbot and Blue Hill Ave. (Five miles at a Family Friendly pace)

Tour de France Viewing @ Tavolo | July 18

The 100th Tour de France is underway and it has been an exciting race so far! The final week in the Alps should be just as exciting. Tavolo (1918 Dorchester Ave) is hosting a TdF viewing on July 18 from 8pm to 11pm, along with Ashmont Cycles and Dot Bike. For more info, click HERE or call 617-822-1918.

Sunday Morning Bike Rides

At 6am every Sunday morning, Ashmont Cycles is hosting a morning ride. The course is a 40-mile loop through Milton, Canton, breakfast stop in Stoughton, and return via Quincy.  This is a "no drop" 15 mph ride. The ride starts at Ashmont Cycles (551A Talbot Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02124). Call 617-480-9429 or email for information.

2nd Boston Bike Friday | June 15

This Friday June 15 marks the 2nd Boston Bike Friday of the season, and DotBike is inviting all the bikers in Dorchester to meet up at 7AM in Peabody Square (on the plaza in front of Ashmont Cycles) or at 7:10AM in Fields Corner (intersection of Adams St. and Dot Ave) to ride together up Dot Ave and to City Hall Plaza where a festival/breakfast will mark the finish line.  Help make the Dorchester convoy the largest and enjoy a pleasent Friday morning ride with other bike enthusiasts.  See more details and RSVP HERE.

Summer Safety Day & Bike Rodeo | June 9

Join the Boston Police District C-11 for the Summer Safety Day & Bike Rodeo being held on June 9th from 10AM to 2PM at the McKeon Post Parking Lot / 4 Hilltop Street / Dorchester.  Children ages 4 - 12 years and parents are welcome to join in on bike safety info, fun bike games and agility tests, as well as cool bike helmets (while supplies last) and FREE raffle for two 20" kids bikes! Public Meeting on Morton Street's Future Nov. 22

MassDOT will be hosting a public meeting on Morton Street's Future. The meeting will be held by MassDOT to discuss several aspects of Morton Street on the border of Mattapan and Dorchester. The meeting will be on November 22, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mildred Ave. School Auditorium. The meeting is set to discuss several aspects of Morton Street on the border of Mattapan and Dorchester. The agenda includes:

Free Basic Bike Maintenance Class, Oct. 30

Do you want to learn how to change a flat tire? Have questions about what you can do to get the best performance from your bike? Want to continue to ride even though the halcyon days of summer are gone? Come to Ashmont Cycles (551A Talbot Ave., Dorchester) at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, October 30th, for instruction/discussion about those and other bike-related matters. Bring your bike or a wheel from the bike and be prepared to get your hands dirty. Coffee and donuts/bagels will be provided. DotBike Tour of Open Studios Oct. 22

Join DotBike for the annual Public Bike Tour of Dorchester Open Studios! The tour will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, October 22nd, in Codman Square in front of Great Hall. The ride will be 8 miles of biking taken at a relaxed pace with several brief stops to view some great outdoor art! Helmets are required.
