A Wheelie Fun Time | June 12

This wellness event is open to all residents and community members and will include local vendors, healthy and fresh foods, educational resources, giveaways, health screenings, physical activities, raffle prizes from local businesses and more!

Scheduled activities to include a Slow Roll Bike Ride along the Neponset Greenway, a 5k Walk/Run around the park, and other events to promote active lifestyles and healthier living.

Additionally, they are running a Community Bike Swap & Repair--bring any and all bikes you are willing to donate to us so we can repair them and redistribute them to those in need of an affordable bike in the South Dorchester community or if you just need repairs done on your own bike.

Annual Community Beach Party, Aug. 13

Geiger Gibson Community Health Center and Neponset Health Center present the Annual Community Beach Party at Malibu Beach! This event, part of National Health Center Week, features activities and offering for children, youth and adults, including a drawing competition, games, music, temporary tattoos, balloon animals, refreshments, food samples, a free and healthy lunch and many giveaways. Come to Malibu Beach from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011.

Dorchester "Teams Up" Against Diabetes, Apr. 30

26 million people in the United States currently live with diabetes, and 79 million are at high risk for developing the disease. In response to this help epidemic, Carney Hospital and Harbor Health Services, Inc. are proud to host "Dorchester 'Teams Up' Against Diabetes," an event to raise awareness and education about diabetes in the Dorchester community. Come to Carney Hospital on Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to enjoy fun activities for kids, a cooking demo from Chris Douglass of Ashmont Grill, health screenings, "Diabetes 101" sessions in four languages, and more. Experts will be on site to answer questions.
