BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life) is a community-based, nonprofit organization with a mission to enhance the academic performance, self-esteem and life opportunities of Black and Latino elementary school children living in low-income, urban communities.

BELL was founded in 1992 by a group of students at Harvard Law School. Led by Earl Martin Phalen (BELL's current CEO), members of the Harvard Black Law Students Association collaborated with a parent group to develop a tutoring, mentoring and homework-assistance program for children. The success of those initial efforts and the recognition of the dire need for academic support among Black children led to the founding of BELL.

BELL currently operates two programs: BELL After-School and the BELL Summer. BELL has been operating high quality programs in Boston since 1992, in New York City since 1996, in Washington, D.C. since 2000, and Prince George’s County (MD) and Baltimore since 2004.

MassCOSH brings together workers, unions, community groups, and health, safety and environmental activists to organize and advocate for safe, secure jobs and healthy communities throughout eastern and central Massachusetts. Through training, technical assistance and building community/labor alliances, MassCOSH mobilizes its members and develops leaders in the movement to end unsafe work conditions.

The WIC Program improves the health status of families by providing nutrition and health education, nutritious foods and referrals to other health and human services. WIC achieves this by collaborating with community, healthcare,retail food stores, state and federal patners.

Provide innovative, practical, and innovative programs in a quality nurturing environment with an emphasis on promoting positive learning, social experiences, and most important, quality care for children (in a home setting).

To grow a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system. This community produces healthy food for residents of the city and suburbs, provides youth leadership opportunities. Most importantly, we strive to inspire and support others to create a change in their own communities.
