Boston Parks Department Neighborhood Concert | July 18

Each year the Boston Parks Department hosts Neighborhood concerts throughout the city as part of Mayor Menino’s Neighborhood Performances. With support from the Pope's Hill Neighborhood Association, the city will be hosting the highly acclaimed band "Bearfight." Bearfight will play at Garvey Park on July 18 from 7pm to 8:30pm. The Freeport Tavern/Phillips Old Colony & the PHNA will be hosting a free BBQ starting at 6:30pm. Pope's Hill Neighborhood Association Monthly Meeting | March 28

It’s never too early to start planning summer activities for the kids. Join the Pope's Hill Neighborhood Association when they hold their monthly meeting at the Murphy School/Leahy Holloran Community Center (7 Worrell StreetDorchester, MA 02122). Listed below is the planned outine of the meeting, including their Annual Summer Youth Resource Fair.  Don’t have a sitter? Don’t worry about it. "Gnomeo and Juliet" in Garvey Park, Jul. 22

Thanks to BCYF, Garvey Park will be R.O.C.K.ing on July 22. The Leahy-Holloran Community Center has secured equipment to host a FREE outdoor movie in right field of Garvey Park @ 8:20 p.m. Bring some snacks, a blanket or chairs and bug spray and enjoy Gnomeo and Juliet. The more families and neighbors that come out and enjoy this great evening, the more likely it will happen again! While there, ask about all the great programming that is taking place thanks to the Leahy~Holloran Community Center and their partners: BCYF, Boston R.O.C.K.S., St. Ann CYO/Youth Ministry, PHNA and the Bostonian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Lego & Theater Clubs for Kids, PHNA

Lego Club for Kids Update: the Lego and Arts in the Park programs are full! The response was huge; stay tuned for announcements of other summer programming in Dorchester! The Pope's Hill Neighborhood Association is proud to present a very special Lego Club for children at Dorchester’s Garvey Park. As your child moves through the many stages of growth, Lego’s offer toys that foster creativity and encourage the development of motor skills, role‐playing and problem‐solving abilities. The Lego Club @ Garvey Park, sponsored by PHNA, will meet Mondays and Wednesdays July 11th through August 23rd, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is a FREE program for children ages 5 to 9. Space is limited. Registration will be based on space availability.
