Celebrate St. Patrick's Day and the coming spring season with a night of live music at ester.

Milton's own Jenna Lotti, pop-soul singer-songwriter and winner of Female Performer of the Year at the New England Music Awards, will perform while you can enjoy a special New England Boiled Dinner in celebration of St. Pat's!

10th Annual Dorchester Chili Cook-Off | March 13

More than two dozen cooks will be competing for bragging rights to the best chili in town at the 10th Annual Dorchester Chili Cook-Off. Restaurant chefs and cooks from civic and youth groups, local police and fire stations, and a few politicians will offer all-manner of chili to patrons while the Hot Tamales Brass Band performs New Orleans and Dixieland jazz and DJ Ed Regal entertains the crowd. There will be games and great raffles, all to raise money for the Dorchester Day Parade.  

When: Sunday March, 13 4-7 p.m. 

Where: IBEW Local 103 Hall, 256 Freeport St. Dorchester. 

 

Admission is $20; $30 for a family of up to $4. Additional children are $5 and kids under 5 are free.

Fellowship Dinner Potluck | Jan 8

Please join First Parish Dorchester for their monthly fellowship dinner series. Families are warmly welcome. This month has the special added joy of being a chance to welcome and break bread with their new Interim Minister, the Rev. Tricia Brennan, for the first time.

Attendees are asked to bring an appetizer/snack, side-dish, or dessert. BUT join even if you don't have the time/ability to put something together. Dinner will be available throughout the event, so no worries if you are running a bit late. Help in cleaning up the kitchen afterwards is appreciated. Donations of a dollar or two towards the entree are appreciated from those who can afford it.

Holiday Cornucopia Event | Nov 18

Snapchef is very excited to be cooking up change in the neighborhood. The Snapchef Foundation will host a #500X500 Holiday Cornucopia Event providing 500 individuals the opportunity to enjoy a holiday meal that is healthy, nutritious and affordable. 

Their goal is to feed 500 hungry and potentially malnourished individuals. 
When:  November 18th from 3-5 p.m.

 A Chef from Haley House’s Take Back the Kitchen program leads an interactive demonstration to show how to get more flavor with less salt. This program is appropriate for all ages.

The Swap the Salt campaign was launch in 2014 by the Boston Public Health Commission to help combat health inequalities in Black and Latino communities.
