Fresh Fridays with the Dorchester Food Co-op | Every Friday in August

The Dorchester Community Food Co-Op needs 8 volunteers ( 1-2 people with vehicles) to help out at Fresh Fridays.  Volunteers with help buy fresh fruits the day befoe event, help set up and serve. on the day of. Fresh Fridays have live entertainment, recipes for new foods and activities for kids. Even if you can't volunteer come out and enjoy Fresh Fridays!

Super Foods and You | January 30

On Thursday, January 30, 2014, at 3:30pm, the Uphams Corner Library located at 500 Columbia Rd. in Dorchester will host Super Foods and You.

Uphams Corner Health Center's Nutritionist Molly Warner will introduce Super Foods: Simple, inexpensive foods that revitalize the brain and heart. She'll also share a snack made from Super Foods.

This event is free and is open to the public.

CARIBBEAN NIGHT | December 20

'It may be winter outside, but in my heart it's ....... playing parang, socca, calypso and eating some serious Caribbean food. This Friday December 20th at 6pm it's Caribbean Night Pt. II and we are rolling out the curried crab, Bajan fishcakes, calaloo, stewed chicken, rice and peas, coconut bake, sorrel and mauby .... need I say more!

Saint Brendan 5th Annual Holiday Festival & Bazaar | November 23

Holiday Festival with many vendors selling their unique items.  Triple Decker Designs, Children's Hair Accessories, Scarves, Engraved Items, Baked goods, Holiday Baskets, Jewelry, Raffles, Kids Korner (xmas shopping for the kids), Scholastic Book Fair, Reindeer Cafe, Pictures with Santa and much more.

Welcome Back/Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Party | September 27

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH, 2013 • 3-8 PM, the Boston Teachers Union Hall will be having a Back to School Bash / Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Fundraiser. There will be music, dancing, & food. For 21+ there will be a cash bar. All of the proceeds collected will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Men of Boston Cook for Women's Health | Sept 26

Men of Boston Cook for Women's Health serves to join some of the Boston area's finest restaurants with local celebrities to help raise funds for critical women's health programs. Since its founding in the 90s, Men of Boston has grown in its impact; leading to the event gaining national attention in 2010 as John King, a supportive Dorchester native, filmed his nightly show John King USA live as he served food to guests. In 2011 celebrities like the Patriot's Vince Wilfork and Governor Deval Patrick joined as chefs, and since Men of Boston has been named one of the ten best Food and Wine Events in Boston by BizBash in consecutive years.

 

Men of Boston takes place at the Gala Tent in front of Codman Square Health Center at 6pm on Thursday, September 26, 2013.

Dot 2 Dot Cafe Live Music | Nov. 9

 

Ladies and Gents please come and join Dot2Dot Cafe this Friday for an evening of good food and great music, courtesy of Tolieth and Austin Marks.  Tolieth can nail any tune from gospel, soul, jazz and some very cool renditions of mainstream pop.  Look out for some very funky music, serious jazz on the keyboards and some drumming to get those toes tapping.  $5 charge on the door to go to the band.  Accessible menu, great family atmosphere so come eat, drink and boogie if the music moves you.

Wrapping for a Cause | Oct. 28
