Free Resources for Mothers-To-Be: Text4Baby

Last week was the one year Anniversary of a wonderful resource that has provided over 100,000 women with information to improve their health and the health of their babies. Text4baby is a free mobile information service designed to promote maternal and child health. This service provides pregnant women and new moms with information they need to take care of their health and give their babies the best possible start in life.

With the support of CTIA, The Wireless Foundation & participating wireless service providers, all messages you receive from text4baby are completely free of charge! Even if you don’t have a text messaging plan, you can get these messages for free and text4baby won’t take away from your total messages either. Text4baby was even featured in the New York Times opinion pages, you can view this article here

If you are pregnant, you will receive one message per day for the first six days with general information. After that, you will receive three messages a week throughout your pregnancy until your child’s first birthday. All you need to do is simply send a text message to the number 511411 with the word BABY or BEBE (for Spanish messages).
