Free Yard Waste & Hazardous Waste Removal, Apr 25 - May 20

At 7 a.m. on recycling days from April 25 to May 20, residents can have their leaves and yard waste picked up by Boston Public Works crews. Those who want to get rid of their rubbish in the backyard should leave the debris in large paper leaf bags or barrels labeled “yard waste” and tie branches together with string.

The City of Boston is also holding drop-off days to get rid of household hazardous waste. This year residents can take any waste to the UMass-Boston Harbor Campus  on May 7, or to the West Roxbury Public Works Yard  on June 25. Put household poisons, insecticides, paint, tires, auto fluids, car batteries, wood preservatives, herbicides and pool supplies, propane tanks, motor oil , and products labeled corrosive, flammable or toxic in cardboard boxes for safe transport and bring them to the below locations. TVs & computer monitors are not accepted at Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Days. Please call 617-635-7574 for home pickup of TVs and computer monitors or apply online here.
